Liminal, or Liminality at its roots means “threshold”. Those inbetwixt and inbetween times and places that are both terrifying and exciting. Three in the morning seems to be the hour of the day where everything seems out of time. Its far too early to be morning, but its past actual night. Sunsets, sunrises, dreams – all liminal places.
A Limner is an old term referring to manuscript illuminators and painters. To Limn, is to describe, to depict by painting or drawing.
Its my goal as an artist to be the person that shows others the liminal places. Standing at a cross section of art, spirituality, and the everyday. To poke holes in the rut of every day modern life to limn other/better/different worlds.
